AlonLearn is the learning platform trade unions and workers' organisations use to deliver targeted member courses, learning paths for union representatives and billable professional courses — with access control per professional group. The Norwegian Nurses Organisation runs its entire course and continuing education operation on AlonLearn with 120,000+ users.
CHALLENGES
Many trade unions have a sign-up system that doesn't talk to the course system, and a learning platform that doesn't know who's a member. Tens of thousands of members, many professional groups, union representative training that runs over time, and professional courses where the employer is often the one to pay — here are four problems we see again and again before AlonLearn is in place.
A trade union or workers' organisation often has tens of thousands of members spread across local chapters, professional groups and union representatives. Excel lists and email lists aren't enough when the course catalogue needs to reach the right audience.

PERMISSIONS PER PROFESSIONAL GROUP
Roles in AlonLearn separate member, union representative and course administrator. Course administrators can be assigned to a specific professional group or local chapter and can then create, publish and report on their own courses — without stepping into each other\'s areas.
The Norwegian Nurses Organisation runs 350 course administrators across 35 internal units in exactly this way. Central management doesn\'t have to be a bottleneck — professional groups operate themselves.
Vipps, card and EHF invoice in the same checkout. Members pay themselves, or specify the employer who receives the invoice directly. Refunds and credit notes in the same flow.

BLENDED LEARNING
Few types of training are as naturally blended as the trade union's own. Union representative training combines self-paced subject material, physical gatherings at conference venues and follow-up webinars. Member courses are blended in the same way — the professional agreement as eLearning, professional discussions as live webinar. Every format is aggregated into one learning path. A union representative doesn't get five small certificates on the receipt — they get one certificate for union representative training when the whole path is completed.
WHAT A BLENDED PATH LOOKS LIKE
Inside a learning path, union representatives see all their steps in a row — the eLearning on the professional agreement that must be completed before the gathering, the date of the gathering itself with QR attendance, and the closing webinar two weeks later. Each block has its own status, and the whole path unlocks the certificate.
Administration sees the same picture from the other side — who is still on the eLearning, who completed the gathering, who is missing the webinar. No more spreadsheets.
